The Granary

The Granary opens for guests Memorial Day Weekend and is available until the end of Labor Day weekend by the weekend or week. Check Vacation Rental by Owner for information and the booking calendar. Guests have free run of fields, woods, and Angelica Creek for walking, fossil collecting, and splashing around plus a charming rustic cottage with excellent WiFi.

For one hundred years, this little building was a granary, home to wheat, barley, buckwheat, oats, and canola. Then, in 2007, it began its second life as a charming summer cottage, perched on a point of land over the Angelica Creek valley, a mile upstream of its confluence with the history-rich Genesee River, on a working farm in Allegany County, New York.

The Granary has a screened in sleeping porch, surrounded by cricket song, wildflowers, and the mist that settles in the valley each morning. In addition to the cozy living space (kitchen, bathroom, living room and bedroom with a queen-sized bed), and the sleeping porch with standard double bed, there is a sleeping loft which is great for kids. The porches overlook fields and forests. There is a large attached fenced yard for dogs.

Catbird Farm grows corn, hay, buckwheat, organic vegetables, organic grains, fruits, experimental forage grasses and lavender. There is lovely Angelica Creek for dipping and lots of land for roaming. The town of Angelica is known for its quaint charm, antique stores, and the Angelica Farmers' Market. Other nearby amenities include two 18 hole golf courses at Waterways Golf Resort, (also known as Six S Golf Course) and includes an Irish Pub and Restaurant, fishing on the Genesee River kayaking on the Genesee River Wilds , antique shops, restaurants, and live music on weekends at the Black-Eyed Susan Acoustic Cafe in Angelica and The Wellsville Creative Arts Center.  Find out more about Angelica.
